The configuration presented a journey which is strongly characterized by a complex structural sequence which gave 3 spaces rises at different level; they’ve been connected by several flights of stairs, which preceded the deep, dark hallway that served as access to lifts which split the main staircase.
All efforts have been directed to mitigate the feeling of depth and eliminating hidden corners in the path that leads from the public way to the new shipment to 180º on the ground floor. The introduction of a diagonal plane of the facade in composition resolved this requirement. Thereafter, in order to ensure maximum transparency and luminosity, the project proposes to replace all the current front walls of laminated glass, releasing the pillars, and the construction of a wood interior level that indicates the position of the new staircase and leads directly to the elevator. This area serves as a facade, splitting and distorting the traditional boundaries, which stresses the continuity of the interior spaces with the exterior. As a basis plan for the new geometry, they introduced serial-modulation revealed in the cutting of floors and travertine marble pillars, which gives order and serves as a conceptual transparency to the new layout.
