This is the success story from Feldman Architecture. They has been successfully remodeling very old house that build in 1860’s become very stylish modern house. Located in San Francisco’s Bernal Heights, this old house was abandoned for long years before Feldman Architecture remodeled it.
How can they do it? by adding modern material such as clean glass and metal that emphasized with modern, this house become very stylish. But the architect still hold it’s rustic wood to represent that it is a remodel house. During renovating, a new wing was added to the house. It consist of a garage, bedroom suite and studio office spaces. The roof and upper floor in the center of the house was cut of to add more natural light to the kitchen and living room. The windows was made larger to connect the house with its exterior.
Now, it is modern home with rustic charm of old house which has everything needed for comfortable life. Overall the interior look so stylish and modern, painted in white, the house become bigger than ever. Open kitchen with glass chair balancing this rustic wood. By these picture below, you will realized 2 thing. First, old can be new and the last is fusion between rustic wood and glass/metal/stainless will make a harmony too
