Shin Ohori, and his firm General Design Co have completed this beautiful retreat home for a private weekend getaway from the busy and crowded place in Tokyo, and this private weekend residence is located in the mountains of Kawakamimura, Minamisau-gun, Nagano.

The name of this full wooden house is Mountain Research where it’s named after the fashion designer line of Setsumasa Kobayashi which used to name his work General Research. The mountain hideaway is a perfect place to create a Zen atmosphere at this house. The various functions of kitchen, storage, bathroom, wood shelter are located in almost separated and simple structure at this multi level platform home. The wooden material is 100% pine where the architecture hoping that the building hopefully will return and biodegraded into endless natural cycle.

Although you will find a perfect serenity at this log house, but it will be still a scary worry at the night as it gets completely serene and it’s just too silent. If you want to camp out and enjoy the wilderness then it’s ready with the classy and unpretentious camp which is armored with all of the conveniences of modern life.
