The Oakdale Community Center is located at the edge of a park in suburban North York, Ontario. The building consists of a gymnasium, the elderly and children purpose rooms, and outdoor children's pool.
The building is organized linearly along the street to build a wall of public buildings at the nearby school. A steel canopy extends over the entire length of the building, the protection of areas outside the entrances, and defining areas of outdoor
activities to occur.

The construction of the building responds to the partial nature of the site. The active, street side of the building is constructed mainly of steel and glass curtain wall with exposed masonry infill and ceramics. The silent, park side of the building is constructed of stucco-coated masonry, and is intended, eventually, to become covered with Virginia Creeper.
